Methodology
How we collect and check dealer data.
Where the data comes from
Every fact comes from the dealer's own payment, FAQ, help or shipping pages, linked on each dealer page. When a fact comes from someone else (for example an affiliate directory), we say so. If we couldn't confirm a fact, it says unknown. We never estimate.
What "crypto discount" means
Dealers advertise a crypto discount against a reference price, usually the card/PayPal price or the "list" price. We show the number and what it's measured against. Most US dealers give a bigger discount (about 4%) for bank wire, ACH or check, so crypto typically lands between card and bank pricing. Where a dealer states no discount, we show sampled listed prices instead (Kitco, SD Bullion).
ID verification
We report only what dealers state, as plain facts. "Not stated" means the dealer's pages don't describe a policy. It doesn't mean no ID is ever needed. Payment processors such as BitPay can request ID on their own. CoinsForGold doesn't help anyone avoid identity checks.
Which dealers are listed
A dealer is listed once its own site confirms it accepts crypto. We leave out or flag dealers whose site didn't load, that have stopped taking crypto, or that show warning signs such as prices below the spot metal price.
How often we check
Dealer terms are re-checked regularly. The date at the top of each page shows the last check (currently October 16, 2026).
Ranking
The table's default order is alphabetical. Sorting is up to you. Affiliate relationships never affect order or wording.
Not financial advice
We don't recommend buying gold, selling crypto, or any investment. We compare payment terms so you can check them yourself.
