Best dealer to buy gold with USDC: picks by situation
There's no single best place to spend USDC on gold, because the eight dealers that name it differ on limits, countries and checks rather than on price. For most US buyers, JM Bullion is the safest default: it publishes a 3% crypto discount off its card price, lists USDC among its accepted coins, and allows up to $2,000,000 per crypto order. Outside the US, APMEX and Silver Gold Bull are the two to look at. If you also hold USDT or PYUSD, Silver Gold Bull is the only option among the 14 dealers we follow.
Quick picks
| If you want... | Use | Why (dealer's own terms) | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| The biggest single order | JM Bullion | $2,000,000 crypto cap, 3% off the card price | US addresses only; one-time identity verification on BitPay orders over $3,000 |
| To buy from outside the US | APMEX | Ships to select countries incl. Canada, the UK, Australia and much of the EU; $400,000 a week crypto cap | Its FAQs disagree on a crypto discount (its product page showed crypto 3% under card on October 20, 2026); orders shipped abroad have a $250 minimum when paid by card, Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash, and APMEX doesn't say what applies to USDC |
| To pay with USDT or PYUSD as well | Silver Gold Bull | Lists 16 coins including USDT and PYUSD; 3% off the card price; $250,000 cap | Product pages show no crypto price; ID and matching address may be requested; crypto clears in 2 business days |
| JM-style terms on a second storefront | Provident Metals | 3% off its list (card) price, the same one-time ID check over $3,000 | Its pages give two different caps, $100,000 and $1,000,000 |
| Buying in the UK | Sharps Pixley | London dealer, takes USDC through BitPay | No crypto discount published; photo ID and proof of address on orders above £5,000 |
Ranked by what the dealer publishes
We rank on three things a USDC buyer can check before paying: whether a crypto discount is published and what it comes off, how large an order is allowed, and whether the dealer states its ID rule. Price on the day isn't part of the rank, because none of these dealers lists a separate USDC price.
- JM Bullion: 3% off card, up to $2,000,000, ID rule stated. Dealer page
- Silver Gold Bull: 3% off card, up to $250,000, ID rule stated, widest stablecoin menu. Dealer page
- Provident Metals: 3% off its list (card) price, ID rule stated, cap unclear. Dealer page
- APMEX: crypto priced 3% under card on its product page, international shipping, but its discount wording conflicts and no crypto ID rule is stated. Dealer page
- BGASC: 3% off its list price, up to $250,000, ID check over $3,000; it doesn't say how its list price compares with a card payment. Dealer page
- Bullion Standard: its FAQ says 3%, but listed crypto prices sat 2% below card on October 20, 2026; up to $100,000. Dealer page
- Sharps Pixley: UK only, discount unknown. Dealer page
- Money Metals Exchange: no crypto discount; it mentions "a modest transaction fee", and its coin list comes from a 2017 company post. Dealer page
Things no dealer tells you yet
- Which network. None of the eight names a blockchain for USDC on the pages we read. All eight use BitPay for crypto (for BGASC and Provident Metals, BitPay is confirmed for Bitcoin payments), so the BitPay invoice is where you'll see which networks are offered. Send only on a network the invoice lists.
- Whether USDC gets the same discount as Bitcoin. Dealers state one crypto discount without listing which coins qualify. Check that the invoice total matches the crypto price you were quoted.
- A stablecoin-specific limit. None sets one, so the general crypto cap applies.
The invoice window is short: JM Bullion, APMEX, Silver Gold Bull and Provident Metals each give 15 minutes to pay, and Sharps Pixley guarantees the BitPay rate for 15 minutes. Have the USDC in a wallet you control before you check out.
Frequently asked questions
Is USDC cheaper than paying by card for gold?
At dealers that publish a crypto discount, yes: 3% off the card price at JM Bullion, Silver Gold Bull and Provident Metals. A bank payment is still about one point cheaper at each of them, because their check and wire discount is 4%.
Can I buy gold with USDC from Canada?
APMEX lists Canada among its shipping countries, and Silver Gold Bull runs a Canadian store, though we haven't confirmed crypto checkout on its Canadian site. Our Canada guide has the details.
