JM Bullion alternatives for crypto buyers: 5 dealers compared
The JM Bullion alternatives for crypto buyers in our comparison are SD Bullion, Kitco, Bullion Standard, Provident Metals and Silver Gold Bull. Each takes crypto through BitPay, as JM Bullion does (Provident Metals' help center confirms BitPay for Bitcoin payments), and each publishes its crypto discount (or a separate crypto price), its order limits and its checkout rules, so we can set it against JM Bullion line by line.
JM Bullion takes 3% off its card price for crypto and 4% for check, ACH or wire. On October 20, 2026, SD Bullion and Kitco both listed a 1 oz American Gold Eagle about 3.0% below their card price when paid in Bitcoin, the same gap JM Bullion publishes. Bullion Standard's FAQ says 3% off for crypto, but its listed crypto prices on October 20, 2026 were 2% below card, so the discount you'd see is 2% (our inference from those listed prices; we didn't run a checkout). At every dealer on this page, paying by wire, check or eCheck costs less than paying in crypto. SD Bullion doesn't offer wire on orders under $2,500, and Bullion Standard's wire minimum is $500.
How we picked these five
We track 14 dealers that accept crypto (full list). A dealer made this page if its own pages, re-read on October 19 or 20, 2026, show three things: crypto is accepted at checkout, the crypto discount and the price it comes off (or a separate crypto price per product), and a crypto order limit.
Dealers we left out, and why:
- APMEX: its own pages disagree about the crypto discount. Its payment FAQ reads as no crypto discount, an older Bitcoin FAQ says 3%, and its listed prices on October 20, 2026 put crypto 3% below card. We'll add APMEX here once a checkout check settles which applies.
- BGASC: JM Bullion owns BGASC, and BGASC states its crypto discount against a list price and doesn't say whether that is its card price, so it doesn't line up with the others.
- Hero Bullion: its own payment page gives two different maximum order sizes ($20,000 and $500,000), so we can't state its limit. Its crypto discount is 2%.
- Money Metals Exchange states no crypto discount, and its site blocked our check on October 19.
- Bullion Exchanges takes Bitcoin only and ships only within the US. It shows crypto prices on product pages but publishes no crypto discount, crypto order limit or payment processor.
- SchiffGold, Sharps Pixley and Ainslie don't publish a crypto discount we could confirm.
Three of the five share an owner with JM Bullion
JM Bullion owns Provident Metals and BGASC, and JM Bullion's parent company, A-Mark, owns 55.4% of Silver Gold Bull, according to A-Mark's SEC filing for the period ending December 31, 2024. SD Bullion, Kitco and Bullion Standard are not named as A-Mark subsidiaries in that filing. If you'd rather use a dealer that filing doesn't name, those are the three on this page.
Crypto terms: JM Bullion vs 5 alternatives
From each dealer's own payment, FAQ and product pages, checked October 19-20, 2026. "unknown" means the dealer doesn't publish it.
| Dealer | Coins accepted | Crypto vs card | Crypto vs wire | Crypto order limit | ID check on crypto orders | Ships to | Free shipping from | Source |

| JM Bullion | 13: BTC, BCH, ETH, WBTC, DOGE, LTC, XRP, POL, GUSD, USDC, USDP, DAI, BUSD | 3% cheaper (published) | about 1 point dearer (wire, check or ACH get 4%) | $0 to $2,000,000 | One-time identity check on orders over $3,000 | US only, no territories | $199 | payments, Bitcoin help |
| SD Bullion | BTC, BCH, ETH and other BitPay coins (full list not published) | 3% cheaper (published); 3.0% in Oct 20 prices | 1.0% dearer than check or eCheck in Oct 20 prices (4%; no wire under $2,500) | up to $250,000 (Bitcoin); minimum unknown | Not stated for crypto; SD Bullion says extra documentation is "sometimes required" | US and international | $199 | payment-pricing, Bitcoin blog |
| Kitco | BTC only | No discount stated; 3.0% cheaper in Oct 20 prices | 1.0% dearer in Oct 20 prices | up to $10,000 (USD orders); minimum unknown | unknown; payment must come from your own wallet, not an exchange such as Coinbase | US, Canada and international (from $135) | $5,000 (continental US and Canada) | payments FAQ, shipping FAQ, international shipping |
| Bullion Standard | 15, incl. | Silver Gold Bull | 16, incl. USDT and PYUSD | 3% (payment page); product pages show no crypto price | about 1 point dearer (wire, check, eCheck get 4%; wire needs $1,000+) | $0 to $250,000; crypto clears in 2 business days | BitPay may ask for ID; crypto orders may need photo ID with a matching address | US store; other countries through its country sites, shipped from Canada (crypto there not confirmed) | $299 | payment, crypto FAQ |
JM Bullion and Provident Metals list USDP under its old name, PAX. All six use BitPay to process crypto (Provident Metals' help center confirms it for Bitcoin; for its other coins that's our inference), and the five that state a payment window give you 15 minutes to pay the invoice (JM Bullion, SD Bullion, Kitco, Provident Metals, Silver Gold Bull). JM Bullion, Bullion Standard, Provident Metals and Silver Gold Bull still list BUSD, which Paxos stopped minting in February 2023, so check with the dealer before paying in it.
What a 1 oz Gold Eagle and a 10 oz silver bar cost in crypto
Prices below are what each dealer listed for a single unit on October 20, 2026, between 9:03 and 9:05 AM Arizona time (MST), except JM Bullion's (9:26 to 9:27 AM) and Provident Metals' and Silver Gold Bull's (9:29 to 9:32 AM), which we read in a browser. Gold spot was about $4,131 to $4,141 an ounce on the SD Bullion and Kitco pages, so a gap of a few dollars between dealers is within normal price movement, and the later readings may include some movement too. Sales tax isn't included. Silver Gold Bull's product pages show wire/check and card prices but no crypto price, so its crypto figures below are our estimates: the card price minus the 3% on its payment page.

Of the five dealers that show a crypto price on the product page, SD Bullion listed the lowest for the gold coin and Bullion Standard the lowest for the silver bar. JM Bullion's crypto prices were the highest of the five for both items, $109.17 above SD Bullion for the Eagle and $74.81 above Bullion Standard for the silver bar. If Silver Gold Bull's 3% applies to its card price, its crypto price would rank second-lowest for both items. JM Bullion, Provident Metals and Silver Gold Bull were read 20 to 30 minutes after the others, and the silver bars differ by brand, so treat the gaps between dealers as approximate. At all six, the wire, check or eCheck price was exactly 4.0% below the card price. "Ships free" means the item alone is above that dealer's free-shipping threshold in the table above; JM Bullion, Provident Metals and Silver Gold Bull's thresholds are $199, $199 and $299.
What each alternative is best for
Each line below names the published term where that dealer differs most from JM Bullion in our data. It's a fit for a specific need, not an overall ranking.
SD Bullion suits crypto buyers outside the US who want to pay in a coin other than Bitcoin. SD Bullion says international customers can pay by BitPay, and JM Bullion ships only to US addresses. Kitco also ships abroad, but takes Bitcoin only. SD Bullion's Bitcoin limit is $250,000, and its 3% crypto and 4% check, eCheck or wire discounts match JM Bullion's (SD Bullion's wire starts at $2,500). SD Bullion caps card orders at $5,000.
Kitco suits Bitcoin holders paying from their own wallet on orders up to $10,000. Kitco shows a separate Bitcoin price next to the wire and card prices on its category pages, so you see the crypto total before checkout. Kitco takes Bitcoin only and won't accept payment sent straight from an exchange. Within the US and Canada it charges $15 shipping plus insurance below $5,000, and it ships internationally from Canada, with costs starting at $135.
Bullion Standard suits buyers who want to pay over the Lightning Network, which Bullion Standard lists through BitPay. Bullion Standard names 15 coins. Check the crypto price in your cart: Bullion Standard's FAQ says 3% off for crypto, but its listed crypto prices on October 20, 2026 were 2% below card. We infer the 2% is what you'd pay, since we didn't run a checkout. Card and PayPal orders stop at $5,000.
Provident Metals suits buyers who want JM Bullion's terms on a different storefront. JM Bullion owns Provident Metals, and Provident's help center describes the same 3% crypto and 4% wire discounts and the same one-time identity check over $3,000. Provident Metals lists 11 coins, including LTC and DOGE, and its payments table caps Bitcoin at $100,000 (another Provident help page says $1,000,000).
Silver Gold Bull suits holders of USDT or PayPal's PYUSD. Silver Gold Bull is the only dealer of the 14 we track that lists either coin. Its crypto limit is $250,000, and its US store ships free from $299. Silver Gold Bull's product pages don't show a crypto price, so check the total on the BitPay invoice.
Who should pick what
- Stay with JM Bullion if your crypto order is over $250,000, the highest limit in any of the five alternatives' payment tables (one Provident Metals help page gives $1,000,000, but its payments table says $100,000; JM Bullion's $2,000,000 is the highest published limit among the 14 dealers we track), or you want to pay in XRP, which none of the five alternatives names.
- Choose SD Bullion if you live outside the US and want to pay in BCH, ETH or another coin besides Bitcoin.
- Choose Kitco if you hold only Bitcoin in a self-custody wallet and the order is under $10,000, in the US, Canada or abroad.
- Choose Bullion Standard if you want to pay in Bitcoin over Lightning.
- Choose Provident Metals if you want JM Bullion's pricing structure under another name.
- Choose Silver Gold Bull if you hold USDT or PYUSD.
- If the lowest total matters most, paying by wire, check or eCheck beat crypto at every dealer on this page, by about 1 to 2 points. Wire minimums: SD Bullion $2,500, Silver Gold Bull $1,000, and JM Bullion, Provident Metals and Bullion Standard $500. Our crypto vs wire vs card comparison covers all 14 dealers.
For stablecoin buyers, our USDC guide covers which dealers take USDC and on what terms. For silver, see buying silver with Bitcoin.
